After some downtime, our website is back! Keep checking back for updates through competition. We've been getting some great testing done this month! We found and fixed some rear suspension issues, and this car's been our best ever. The team is out testing today, collecting some excellent test data thanks to our sponsors at Mars Labs! Check our Facebook or the live feed on the homepage for some artsy pictures from testing last night. There's nothing like seeing our car running- and running well. Off to run some skidpad! CB

2011 wrap up

2011/07/05 @ 05:07:15 PM

At the conclusion of 2011, the University of Maryland Placed 4th overall in the FSAE West 2011 event, and finished 2nd in the Dynamic events.  This year was quite a test of the Maryland team, as extremely aggressive changes to the aerodynamic system and other features of the car were made.  The team, led by Ben Brooke, was faced with many difficulties at the event, including regulating the sound output of their motor.  The team spent all day friday getting their car through tech inspection, and finally succeeded.  2011 will be known for a great team that worked till the bitter end and never gave.  Perseverance won this time.   Way to go Terps Racing!

  • Pending GoPro verification, this little bolt sheared, jumped into the left rear wheel shell, lodged itself between the shell and the brake caliper, and machined the wheel shell for a few laps. Maybe has something to do with the catastrophic engine failure with a lap and a half to go?
